CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) is a certification scheme within the UK construction industry. CSCS cards give validation that the individuals working on a construction sites have completed the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out on site.
The Scheme links in with a nationwide database of people working in the construction sector or on building sites who have achieved, or are committed to achieving a recognised construction related qualification.
Most site managers and contractor supervisors require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid CITB CSCS Labourers Card.
The Scheme’s application processing and contact centre is delivered under contract by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board).
Changes in obtaining your CITB CSCS Labourers Card as from July 2014
The Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) introduced new changes as from July 2014 on how to obtain your CSCS Green Card (Labourer Card). These changes outlined that in order to obtain your CSCS green card you would need to complete your CITB Health, Safety and Environment touch screen test (HS & E) and complete the relevant qualification (In the case of the Labourers Card, this would be the CITB Health and Safety Awareness training course).
How do you get the new CITB Labourers Card?
The CITB Site Safety Plus – Health & Safety Awareness – 1 day course
Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (QCF)

Once achieved complete a CSCS Card Application form or call the CITB direct for your card application.
APPLYING FOR YOUR CITB CSCS LABOURERS CARD

To apply for your own CITB CSCS Labourers card you need to check which card is the right one for you and the job that you do by using the online cardfinder.
